Dear Friends of the Canadian Association for Music Education,
I would like to invite you to participate in an online survey to assist the new Canadian Association for Jazz Education (CAJE). The information you can provide will be useful for our association’s understanding of your needs as they relate to jazz education, and your responses will help guide the structure and inaugural offerings of this new and distinct Canadian, member-owned organization.
My name is Jeremy Hepner and my investment in this research is twofold. I am a doctoral student at Teachers College Columbia University in New York and the principal researcher for this study. The information you provide will be used in my doctoral dissertation entitled “A New Association for Canadian Jazz Education.” I am also President of CAJE and a copy of the summary results will be presented to the Board for review.
The survey is now available online and we invite you to take a few minutes of your time to share your thoughts with us. The survey will only take about 15 to 20 minutes and your input will be extremely valuable. The survey closes on February 1st, 2011.
What you share with us will be kept strictly confidential and you will not be identified individually. This research is being completed under the advisement of Dr. Lori Custodero, Teachers College Columbia University and has been approved by the Teachers College Columbia University Institutional Review Board (IRB Protocol Number 12-084).

J’aimerais vous inviter à participer à un sondage en ligne pour venir en aide à la nouvelle Association canadienne pour l’éducation du jazz (ACEJ). L’information que vous nous fournirez aidera l’association à mieux comprendre vos besoins en matière d’éducation du jazz. Vos réponses guideront d’ailleurs la structure et les offres initiales de ce nouvel et unique organisme canadien appartenant à ses membres.

Je suis un étudiant au doctorat au Teachers College Columbia University à New York et le chercheur principal pour cette étude. Le sondage est maintenant disponible en ligne et je vous invite à prendre quelques minutes afin de partager vos idées avec nous. Le sondage prendra environ 15 à 20 minutes à remplir et votre contribution nous sera très précieuse. Le sondage prendra fin le 1er février 2012.
