• the maple leaf represents Canada
• the bottom leaf segments represent the letters M and E (Music Educators)
• the middle leaf segments represent the letters E and M (Educateurs de Musique)
• the top tip to bottom points form an A (Association)

The logo represents the ideals and work of the CMEA/ACME:

• the heavy bars show strength and solidarity
• the bars in groups of three indicate that the CMEA/ACME serves music education at the local, provincial and national levels
• the arrow head segment shape represents progress, leadership and action
